I worked with Elias across multiple video and motion graphics projects through Blindspot from 2020-2024, hiring him and his team for clients in sports, legal, consulting, finance, and nonprofit. I served as producer or creative director on most of this work, and also got to see him in action as an educator when I participated in portfolio reviews and guest sessions for his film students at Webster University. When Elias started working with us, he offered suggestions and showed us ways to upgrade our video production process around digital shorts for social media and websites. At one event, a friend and industry professional asked “how is that interview shot included in this section intro? Did we capture that a few hours ago??” Elias is the fastest, most efficient editor and motion graphics specialist I’ve worked with, and that efficiency never comes at the cost of quality. That said, it’s the “he really gets what we’re trying to do here” emotional intelligence that shines through. One project that stands out is a 30-minute documentary for a local sports organization’s 50th anniversary. We gathered over a dozen interviews, hours of B-roll, and hundreds of historical photos and artifacts, and it was on Elias as Chief Editor to work with me and weave it all together. I came to completely trust Elias’ eye for visuals, timing, transitions, audio, and subtle motion work. He pulled together a narrative that evoked exactly the right emotion for the occasion.
